Once, when I was young, I felt really happy. People like my family, teachers, and even stories told me I could do anything I wanted in life. They said, "You could be an engineer, a pilot, or whatever you liked." But as time passed, I learned that these were just empty hopes and lies in my country. The truth is, I can't be any of those things.
I've seen other kids in school saying the same things I used to say when I was young – "I want to be a pilot, I want to be an engineer." The government influenced them, but they can't really support those dreams. Even if they could, there aren't enough jobs.
They told us to learn for a better future, and we did. But now that we're here, that future isn't what we thought. There's no such thing as a better future; it's just false hope in this country.
Even the people who have what's called a better future, like salaried jobs, face problems. They're taxed a lot and end up with loans. This is the so-called better future here.
They promised us free or affordable university education. They said even poor people could get good education. But those were lies. Education is mostly for rich people here. The reality is different from what they said.
Now, I pretend to fly and engineer things in class, but outside, things are tough. Dreams struggle, and ambitions don't go far. The hope we used to feel has turned sad. In this place where promises are broken, where dreams and reality don't match, we face the truth.
