NOT STATUES OR THE ART

In peace I come,

For peace, I pen a thought,

To all my dear religious friends,

Let us not forget.

Let us not forget,

That the Lord our God is the Alpha and Omega,

He is full of grace, love, and divine power,

Our one true source of strength each hour.

It is not the statues or the art,

That bring us nigh to God's pure heart,

For He's the one who saves us,

And makes us whole and spotless.

Let us not cling to Mary's hand,

Or other saints we know,

But focus on the Lord, alive, in Heaven,

Who sent His son, out of love, to die for our sins.

For Jesus is the way, the truth,

The life, the source of all our youth,

And through His ransom, we realize

Eternal life, our fate.

So let us worship God alone,

With heart and soul, with voice and stone,

For He is Lord of all we are,

And all we hope to be, by far.

Yes, the world has a lot to offer

More of statues and arts it calls ‘divine’

But all are just to draw our attention from HIM,

So that we can all perish, worshiping it.

OUT HERE

At times we have found ourselves gloomy about our lives  Depressed up to a point where we feel that there is no divinity. Everyday sleeping late at the mid nights and waking up at early at dawns Just to limit time required by poverty to destroy us before our spells arrive -  We fear sleep, for the more we do it, the poorer we become. Out hustling in the streets all day, Not all easy as we thought when we were schooling. Out here, life is our new instructor and teaches without breaks. Out here, every time we need to learn, while unlearning what we already learn t. Out here, no one is for anybody, only the sun and the moons care. Out here, the only friend who means everything is money,  But he is fake and unavailable. Out here we have to struggle, for the exams are in form of temptations, Not to be filled by theories on pieces of paper but with realities on unseen pieces of the heart. Out here, we are trying to make ends meet, but at the end up with destroying our beginning...

SIMPLICITY

We live a life where every part of our body is busy A life full of puzzles that hands have to fill A life full of depression that brains have to solve A life full of hunger that the stomachs have to suffer A life full of journeys that legs have to walk All this is aimed to – Making life at least simple. A life, puzzled All day by side of graves Filled up with mourners all along We cry and cry, cry and cry But in the end All we’re looking for Is a simple life! A life, depressed Browsing over the files in our brains Corrupted with the lust for money We think and think, think and think But in the end All we’re looking for Is a simple life! A life, hungered Scuffling on the walls of our stomachs Bored with ulcers We throb and throb, throb and throb But in the end All we’re looking for is A simple life! A life, long journeyed Walking through the savannah grasslands Tied up with knots all the way We fall and rise, fall and rise But in the end All we're looking for is A simple life! We ar...

UGLY, GOOD HEART AND VICE

Heart to heart, Slowly read. In this journey called life, have you noticed, How our thoughts about people can be misleading? The faces we see don't always tell the whole tale, It's their character that truly sets the sail. The first time we meet, with the ‘ hallo effect ’, it's easy to think, We know someone based on that single link - ‘She's good’. But have you ever wondered if your perception is true? That appearances can sometimes be ‘ fallatic ’? Is the skin color a sign of wisdom? Does a smile always mean no one cries? Can tears show just how weak one might be, And can silence mean that someone's humble? Does leading mean someone is perfect? Does nodding mean everyone's always glad? Can a snarl mean someone's heart is cruel, And is generosity a Mask or a Tool? Can a clumsy person also be smart? Can wanderers have a deep inner art? Character Is More Than What Meets The Eye, It's a puzzle that takes time to untie. But, tell me, as we continue this ri...

THE DARK SIDE OF SUGAR DADDIES

This poem was written from a trending story that was sent via WhatsApp platforms Heart to heart, Slowly read. One Friday night, we sought delight Four older men came with drinks in hand We took their offer, not knowing their plan For months, we enjoyed their lavish fun But soon we learned, we were undone Our lives were changed, forever spun One of them caught my eye, he was so rich He gave me money, made me feel like a witch He seemed so generous, unlike my dad He made me happy, when life was bad I left my hostel, moved to a better place I dumped my boyfriend, he was a disgrace I broke his heart, but I didn't care I had a new life, with wealth to spare My friends were worried, they saw me change They warned me of danger, but I felt strange They cared for me, but I pushed them away I was too blinded, by the money's sway Nine months of bliss, then came the shock He lost interest, he found a new flock His driver told me, he had a wife and kid He lied to me, he kept them well hid ...

KUDOS

For those of you who are here, for business, for touring, and for farce Watching this pity amusement, practicing clowning and forcing tears, Sitting here and drinking, admiring my beautiful eternal house Speaking, and storytelling, praising me go. I have a couple of things to say, won’t take much your time I understand you loved me, you’ve weep a lot, and time may not be on your side. But if you try thinking of it - nothing, nobody actually did You could have saved my life. A lot could have been through in a half a second And in the time you will listen to this message You could have done a lot, so much could have been changed You could have saved my life. But since you live in a busy world,  I suffered lonely spells in the hospital, because the bill was too high  And nobody wanted to be a peasants’ associate  The time it takes to hear, my rants and last goodbyes in my interment, You could have used it to make a gift for your loved ones You could hug your sist...

APOLOGIES

I’m sorry For all the pain I caused you,  You deserved much better than me… Every joy and peace in the world,  But I failed to be the one you need…  I’m sorry  For the harsh words I spoke to you,  I should’ve expressed love I should’ve sung sweet melodies.  I’m sorry,  For the absence I showed you,  Through tough times I left you alone,  Be careless with your feelings Stay blind to your wounds.  I’m sorry,  For the burden I put on you,  I should’ve let you go Should’ve heeded my intuition Everything it warned, was always true.  I’m sorry,  For being too rude to you,  For making you a workaholic And wanting things to get done on time, Leading you to a depressed life.  I’m sorry,  For being too mood-less and rendering you an enemy of the people,  For isolating you from the ones who care And pushing you to the edge of despair.  I’m sorry,  But good things take a sacrifice,  I hav...

SHATTERED DREAMS

Once, when I was young, I felt really happy. People like my family, teachers, and even stories told me I could do anything I wanted in life. They said, "You could be an engineer, a pilot, or whatever you liked." But as time passed, I learned that these were just empty hopes and lies in my country. The truth is, I can't be any of those things. I've seen other kids in school saying the same things I used to say when I was young – "I want to be a pilot, I want to be an engineer." The government influenced them, but they can't really support those dreams. Even if they could, there aren't enough jobs. They told us to learn for a better future, and we did. But now that we're here, that future isn't what we thought. There's no such thing as a better future; it's just false hope in this country. Even the people who have what's called a better future, like salaried jobs, face problems. They're taxed a lot and end up with loans. This is...

The Promised Land

Heart to heart, Slowly rea He missed the boat that sailed away To the promised land of hope and joy He longed to see that distant shore Where he could live his dreams and more He did not listen to his friends Who urged him to stay and learn He thought he knew the way to go He had a compass and a plan He jumped the wall and dove into the sea He swam with all his strength and will He did not fear the waves or sharks He did not mind the cold or dark He said to himself, "I have to get there" He did not ask for help or guidance He did not trust in God's good plan He did not seek His face or hand He swam for hours, but made no progress He grew more weary, but saw no land He felt his life was slipping away He wished he had another way Meanwhile, his school had noticed his absence They searched for him with care and love They found him floating in the sea They rescued him with grace and mercy They brought him back to safety and health They taught him of God's love and truth T...

Under His Arms

Heart to heart, Slowly read. Like the little chicks under a Hen's arms Our God shelters us from all alarms Our God knows our needs before we ask Our God gives us strength for every task He is the Lord of all creation He rules with love and not with coercion He guides us by His perfect will He leads us to the green pastures still Our God is our refuge and our fortress Our God protects us from the evil forces Our God covers us with His feathers Our God binds our wounds and makes us better He is the source of every blessing He fills our hearts with joy and peace He is faithful to His promises He never changes, He never ceases He is our God and we are His people He calls us by name and makes us His temple He is with us always, even to the end He is our Father, our Savior, our Friend Show me your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth, and teach me: for you are the God of my salvation; on you do I wait all the day.

DRUGS FLEE: take back our land.

Drugs enslave the mind, a silent thief, Stealing dreams, causing pain and grief. But there's a way to break these chains, To find the strength to quit the strains. Let's join our hands and make a stand, Say no to drugs, take back our land. In every street and every town, Drugs tear lives and families down. But hope still shines, a guiding light, A path to healing, a new insight. Let's stand together, make a vow, To help each other, show them how. We must not fear, we must be strong, Our voice a song, our will a song. We must embrace each other's hand, And help those struggling to stand. Let's show the world a better way, Free from drugs, a brighter day. So let us rise and make a change, A call to action, a new range. Let's be the ones to light the fire, To inspire and take back the power. Say no to drugs, and let it be, A world of freedom, a world set free. And when the journey seems too tough, Just remember, you're not a...
